managed to pull off what seemed like a crazy idea. i won't say that the plan was executed perfectly, but things didn't go wrong. i guess i worry and think too much for unimportant stuff. shall blog about it SOON.
how many days has it been since i last watched the ugly truth. i can't stress enough the impact it has on reality, seriously! guys will love the show, in yc's words "portrayal of the emasculated modern men". The character Mike Chadway - what every modern guy wish he was but can never be. What about the female then? Well, the first word that comes to mind every time i think about the show - overwhelming. It's like some sort of shocking revelation that we ladies refuse to acknowledge or admit. I don't know about you, but honestly i was feeling uncomfortable amidst all that laughing during the show. Yeah, maybe I'm over-analyzing it, but then again Abby is the epitome of modern day female - exaggerated a 100times. In other words, whether you like to admit it or not, there is a tiny Abby in all of us females! Anyway, go catch it if you haven't already done so. Jeez.
ah. the short secret getaway over the long weekend is all over. *sigh* SO SIAN NOW. had much fun in KL but it's all back to business again. :[ will upload some random snaps soon, after i finish procrastinating. hurhur. caught the ugly truth and g-force (in 3d!). it was cheap cheap cheap and good (compared to sg). haha! And i must say, although the ugly truth was overall a great romantic flick; love described it as "a breath of fresh air", silently, i kind of regret suggesting to watch it. ~_~ No, it wasn't the fact that love seemed to enjoy it so much more than i did, nor was it that the guys in the cinema seemed to laugh so much harder and enjoyed it so much more than the gals, it was just....oh.my.goodness. when i think about what's being said/portrayed in the movie. Anyway, no time to pen it down now. got an important interview tomorrow. Wish me luck. Will write again tml!
I know I stated earlier that I should stop having super full dinners. AHHHHHH....it didn't stop. lol~ Had a wonderful dinner at Prego (Raffles City) this evening, with Love, Chris & MinChee. Dan & Sher were supposed to join us, but oh well...in the end didn't. What a shame. Anyway, wow. Finally, Love and I were at Prego, after wanting to dine there like 3 years ago (when we just got together, we wanted to eat there but the place was fully booked :< )
The service was a tad lower than expected (for such a classy place), 'cause i guess it was a friday night after all. We waited quite long for our main dishes. :/ The squid-ink pasta was scrumptious! But i ate too much of the bread and calamari at the beginning, such that when my main course came, i was alittle full already. lol. dessert(Zuccotto) was not bad, but too much coffee for my liking, seems more like a mudpie than what it is named. Overall, food was good, ambience great, company even better! But then...(see, there's always the BUT) so was the price. LOL~~ dinner for the 4 of us amounted to $193.91 x_x *KILLER* lol~
after the stomach-bursting meal, the 4 of us went to selegie to play L4D. Haha, Bu was right. I really did enjoy it, though the guys had to keep saving us girls cos we both first timers at it. haha! was damn fun though. the last mission of our campaign was abit hard, we all kept dying at first and later on, i kept dying la! hahaha~ cos keep on swarmed by all the incoming zombies on my side. Finally we managed to hold out before the plane came and rescued us. I guess it was fun cos there was solid team work ah ;p not to mention no stupid bots hehe.
whee~~ still feeling happy about the dinner, although having flashbacks of zombies ~.~ the witch and tank is damn scaryyyyy...ah. long weekend next week. mm. but sigh. job searching stinks. gahhh its okay. i must stay positive and enjoy my tai tai days before i become a slave of the working world.
Eek. just realised I didn't blog about 9/9/09!!!!! Bubear and I celebrated our 3rd year anniversary! We wanted to have steak at first, so it was between Ashtons Prime and Grill-out. Since we've eaten at Grill-out before, and reviews from friends/relatives about Ashtons were not that satisfactory, we decided to .....Kuishinbo instead. HA. Tummy bear loves the wagyu teppanyaki, I love the chocolate fondue. ('cause they didnt use cheapo chocolate! unlike the one at the Swensens buffet@ion orchard = horrendously LOUSY.) Lurfu bought Paddington bear for me!! Same initials as my pet name ah~ P.B. haha! I made fruit jelly for love. Er, it didn't turn out as well as i wanted it to...cos not sweet enough lol. I finished making the jelly already then i figured out that i should added Ribena instead. Would have gave the jelly a nice colour and much sweeter taste. Awww..Anyway, there was alot of drama on that day. Stupid events that turned my entire day's plan upside down. Made me so peeved! in a sentence, I HATE RE!!!!
WHOA. It's just amazing how God is. And sometimes it shows so much, like a blooming flower in a dry, hot desert. For e.g. tonight, for every person that tried to tear my confidence apart, He sent another to patch it back up. lol.
I guess i really should take time to diligently keep in constant contact with most classmates/schoolmates. It was an unexpected conversation that started out rather awkwardly. =.=" A name that I won't usually double click on, as with many of the people on my MSN (sad but true :X). To be honest, initially i had just wanted to ask her about something. But it ended up with me not mentioning the question at all, 'cause it seemed unimportant somehow, as compared to what we had ending up sharing about. it was as though she read the thoughts straight out of my mind and for each of the concerns, she just somehow knew how to address them. haha. spooky, right? ;p i really should have interacted with her more during the poly days but i guess i just didnt get much chance to, although we were in the same "clique", there were clusters even within the group itself. so...oh well. Someone in my field who knows exactly what she wants and has a sort of plan on how to get it. Sensible and motivated! Great, something i am not. hehe. Anyway, we talked about the fresh graduate's dilemma, further studies and future plans. i guess she already has her goal and logical plan to achieve that, while i'm still wondering aimlessly. haha. oh well. all in its time....
mom woke up at 2+am 'cause she was hungry. she made me a glass of warm milk (nice, but i STILL dun like milk. yuck.) anyway, she switched on her favourite item in the house - THE TELEVISION! lol. Heard this encore broadcast of a radio programme 93.8 called the Living room. wow. It's quite a nice series. They had a psychologist over to talk about happiness. Well, the topic of the day was, "Is too much money a good or bad thing?"
1) it's definitely a good thing for a developing nation that is needs it to get out of poverty etc. Once people can live comfortably, the degree of happiness that money provides is much lesser than before. (Woo, diminishing returns of happiness from money..i see)
2) depends on where the money is spent. money spent on items (e.g. bags, tv, shoes, clothes etc etc) give a short-lived sense of happiness, and the feeling of happiness wears off after awhile. However, money spent on things which give you memories will provide you happiness that can last. why. it is simple. Example, you pay and go on a trip/short holiday with your family or friends. at the end of the trip, you bring back with u the wonderful memories that u enjoyed there. each time you relate about your trip to others or when you think about it, it triggers the feeling of happiness and reinforces it. So, in your entire lifetime, u'd probably be able to recall about the pleasant memories that make you smile, more than you would remember about an expensive handbag which you bought years ago. So, according to her, money spent on creating memories or interactions with people and loved ones are the best "investment" =) AHAHAHAHAA! me thinks me is de accidental genius in this area. LOL. i was like telling my mom, "OMG, I HAVE BEEN DOING THAT WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING." heh, no offense to the people who always spend on material things to make themselves happy. but i guess yall should start giving this "investment" idea a thought as well. ^^ start buying MEMORIES, not THINGS. hehe
side note: craving for prata!!! KO SONG PLS! ;p (i must be mad. craving for prata at 4am -.-)
