Woot! We're going to the zooooo zoooo zooo, what about you you youuuuu...LOl. super lame and irritating song. :X haha~ anyway we finally went to the zoo today, partly to celebrate bubu's birthday too!
Zoo's Entrance
We reached there at around 1plus. Went to eat KFC for lunch 'cos bubu got a birthday voucher from singtel, 15% OFF all items at any outlet except SP. At first the person don't allow 'cos by right zoo's kfc doesn't participate in ANY promos at all. But somehow in the end they allowed which by right i feel, should allow anyway. 'cos it says that it's applicable to ALL except sp.
After lunch we went to see the new splash safari show that starts at 2.30pm. Lucky we got there early, 'cos right after we found seats and sat down, HUGE groups of noisy primary school kiddies started flocking in. aiyo. there were like 3 different primary schools. JEEZ! I thought school holidays over liao, why still got field trips for kiddies! Anyway the Mc of the show was a pretty young well-spoken girl, i tink like few years younger than us. She can really speak very well @_@ As for the performance, it was alright, entertaining but kind of short. Got penguins, manatee and sealion. The manatee and dugong look quite alike at first glance but manatee has a flat round tail while dugong has a tail like a dolphins. Manatee more related to elephant 'cos of its hooves. But ah, DUGONG CUTER!!!! =p the manatee is really one lazy big chunk of meat. hahaa! Picture of the baby manatee
Nevertheless, Bubu and Pupu both miss gracie the dugong from sentosa hehe!

We went to the pygmy hippo exhibit and i was finding the hippo when love asked me to go see this sign.

found this lioness prowling near the glass. Took a shot. Then stupid kiddies came in and started banging on the glass. Omg. Siao. Later provoke the lioness, she knock the glass, come out and eat them xD

We actually managed to cover the whole zoo, which frankly wasn't much. We went to the fragile forest, which was an enclosure where the animals were free ranging, with 95% invertebrates & 5% vertebrates. saw a tree kangaroo at the door and as love took a few steps forward. out of nowhere a butterfly flew towards him, landed on his back and refused to fly away. i just squirmed and stood as far away from love :X don't like butterflies!
love tried to make it fly away but it just wont. it flew liao will land back on love's back -_-" then later it crawled onto my bag cos love was carrying it for me. yeee...then later 2 angmohs came in. they were like "eh butterfly" and went to touch the butterfly. And they saw me hiding at one corner, they waved the butterfly on the bag away. FINALLY the butterfly flew off -_-" We then later found out the butterfly was female. 'cos it was black and purple. Walked around the fragile forest, finally saw the sloth. Was really up close. But didn't know it was that brown looking. and it was sleeping la. lazy fella.
Then there was some blue pigeons..forgot the exact name. but they were really oblivious to humans. Stand right beside them, take photos of them they also don't care. At some point of time, it even 'followed' us. haha! stalker!
There was also a Lemur sitting on a branch right above the middle of the path, with it's long furry black white hanging down. But damn, the camera was long dead. too bad >_< but oh well, managed to touch its furry furry tail =p
After that we just walked around the parts of the zoo we haven't covered and left at abt 6plus 'cos love had to go marche to celebrate bday with family =) Overall i must say the zoo isn't as much fun as sentosa, 'cos there really isn't much to do at the zoo anyway. And the animals look very bored wor :( but i guess they changed the enclosures alot ever since we were young. now is more of an 'open concept', alot of free ranging animals which is good.
