I wonder what's wrong with me right now. Feeling utterly upset and it seems like it's for no apparent reason. Is it because it's almost the time of the month - maybe. Or perhaps the unspoken stress from schoolwork - possibly. Maybe even from the dissatisfaction about something, which i really don't know what it is. Or maybe even combination of everything.
It's been ages since I last celebrated or did anything out of the usual on 八月十五. I remember the last time that i did, was during primary 6 (in 1996), where i met ling at night at the playground near both our place. Both of us carried lanterns and played with fire and candles (hoho, burnt alot of leaves). This year, after more than a decade, i finally did something on 八月十五 and it's also the FIRST time ever that i stepped into Chinese garden. lol.

(Love, Harmony, Prosperity, Bliss, Wealth, Health, Peace and darn i can't remember the last one) For some reason, many people were throwing the gold coins & ribbon at the "Peace" tree. Probably 'cause it's nearer to the booth. I wanted to try leh. Buy the thingy for 3bucks, make a wish and throw the thingy at the trees. If it stays on the tree, the wish would come true. But ah, the tree so high, i sure cant throw it so high 1 =\ Anyway, love thinks the most important tree is the "health" tree, 'cause with that everything else can be achieved.

And so concludes our trip to Chinese garden. Though it was quite a pain trying to take shots of the lanterns due to the massive number of people posing at the lanterns itself and also the large number of non-local vistors irritated me quite abit, overall it was a fun trip for me =)
my first day of recess was okay but super unproductive in terms of work. bleah. nuuu, i mustn't continue like this. anyway, yesterday was yuting 美女's 21st birthday celebration =) the venue was an oh-so mesmerizing 3 storey semi-d. with small pool at the yard. her cousin's place. gosh. i so want a house like that too. >_< came home, told bubu abt the nice house and i got bombarded with questions like "how did their (the owners of the house) business take off, how did they start?" in the end, the both of us pretty much felt both envious and motivated. (okay, maybe the motivated part was me nia lol) cos the family that owned the house; yuting's cousin, was really like the model family. both husband and wife are business people, both pretty young like maybe early 30s? with 1 kid, 1 pet doggy (the doggy got its own personal space that is big for a small doggie!), 2 cars and such a nice house! (not forgetting the huge plasma tv mounted to the wall. gah that's like a must-have in my future house :X)jeez~ what more can u ask for man, seriously? okay but i guess if i were them, i'd have 2 more kids. so total 5 people in 1 big house. heh. coming back to reality....how am i supposed to jump from life science to business. T_T ah, once again, it's times like this that i cant help but wonder would i be better off now if i had went for banking and finance course in SIM instead of BMS in Ngee Ann. gah. Maybe now driving my own car. hoho. bleh. wishful thinking. was nice while it lasted. lol.
lurfu came over in the late morning and we cooked brunch! was really simple stuff. made potato salad, scrambled eggs and bacon.
weida came over to join us for our proper kfc "lunch", and we left him some of the food we cooked. haha!

Whee~~! my mom finally bought me the hp i wanted! ^_^ samsung u600 - neutral white. woot! so happy! but quite scary. it's so slim but i'm so chor lor. T_T thing is, no more feeling frustrated over low batt handphone, no more feeling paiseh asking friend "erm, can i use your phone for awhile?" >_< and no more laggy phone!
after that went to sls with di because he wanted to get an external hdd. went to help bubu buy a slipcase for his new 12.1 lenovo lappy. was tempted to get a new laser mouse BUT i managed to resist. hoho. or maybe shall wait for the next IT fair, see whether got enough money buy razer mouse+keyboard =x after that we walked over to bugis junction. the new food junction looks good. decor quite class, chairs look super comfy and it's huge! went over to basil alcove for dinner. woohoo! finally managed to eat at that place wor. i had basilico duck and di had chicken aglio olio. my duck dish was damn nice T_T next time i go back there, i'm gonna order the cod fish or the lamb rack and the sauteed mushrooms! =p
Dang. i didn't realise. i'm feeling rather broke this month, with birthdays and anniversary, plus just bought new hp and pc, better dun spend so much and start watching what i spend on and cut back if possible yet.........................

Nevertheless, hohoho. i can't believe how much good food can perk me up. though me still is lacking my daily fix though. where is my tummybear? =(
bubu and i didn't go cg again. urgh. i dare not go because i've never been to any cell group gathering before. *scared* but i'm rather concerned that bubu hasn't gone to cg for so long. =( he says he'll only go if i go. ah. what then? haiz. i think i should pluck for my courage and go to cg next week! T_T
the next issue. i really don't understand and cannot comprehend. totally at a lost of what to do. but i do know that if this continues, it'll really drive me up the wall and most definitely out of the house that i now reside at. my mother did it again. threw her temper at me FOR NO FREAKING REASON. WHAT THE HELL. maybe it's the breakdown of communication. or it could be my attitude. it could even be menopause. anything's possible. but i can't help feeling freaking pissed yet very upset and worried. is she mad that i'm hardly home for dinners these days? which ain't exactly true also because i'm home on mondays, tuesdays, wednesdays and sundays or i only go out when i know she's going out too. maybe it's the pressure from work. or maybe it's health. i dunno man. she also won't tell me. i'm peeved but can't help but feel really upset and worried. i need answers but i can't find them. i don't know how long more can i tolerate this. each time i recall the whole incident over, i get more and more pissed. she was just plain unreasonable and when i tried to ask her what's wrong, i got screamed at instead. what the hell! I'm not ever gonna ask what's wrong again. I see no point in doing that if i'm just gonna get screamed at anyway. In future, I'll just turn a blind eye to anything like that and ignore. Never gonna play the fool and ask the damn question.
August taught me to believe and perservere. Life is indeed precious and life without health almost equates to nothing.
September taught me to be more appreciative of people around me, not to take them for granted. With health, can there be wealth. But money is a bad master and yet you cannot do without it. Jealousy and dwelling in the past is bad too.
on another note...my pc is finally UP! after days of being unable to switch it on and burning both me and bubu's weekend~ in the end it was not the cpu fan; it was the damn power supply. 2year nia chui already. Why? I also never use it excessively wor. Hai. Nevertheless, hehe. 3ghz CoreIIDuo (wanted to get Quad de but the person at shop keep saying more than enuff liao.), 2x 1g DDR2 ram, 2xSATA hdd = 260g (a tad bit little, might add more later), Ati radeon graphic card (decided to try ati instead of geforce) and Asus mobo. Pretty decent i tink. considering i dun do video editing and what not. Gaming wise, now like not much chance to game ar. =\ hopefully can last me another 3-5yrs. I is a happy girl with a new PC ^_^

Bloody hell. What did i ever do sia. My usually super noisy cpu fan has decided to become silent recently = if the fan spoils, the cpu gets heated up, there goes my pc. And my intuition was correct. i faster do the lsm2102 online quiz at 8pm (it's due at midnight). just seconds after i hit the SUBMIT button, i looked away from the PC, looked back, the screen turn black. the CPU lights off. wah kao. i hit the power button , the lights blinked but didnt start. @_@ tian ar! i panicked and faster msg duck and weida (cos i was toking to him on msn halfway). Da called and asked if i needed him to go down lend me his laptop. felt paiseh so i said no, and prayed that my cpu rao le wo, be guai and start again T_T and after trying to press the power button 10++ times, i finally got it to start again. then i told the other person in my house that my pc died liao. i die die need one new one this weekend, given the number of online assignments this sem, i really cant afford any PC deaths. and c'mon. my pc is already >3 years old. my freaking processor and motherboard is like how old? can't even upgrade liao lor. and damnit la, i nv even raise my voice but what i got? i got screamed at. PUI. and for what? Because she thinks my attitude for money stinks. Because she thinks i dun do research, im just gonna get whatever i see. Because she thinks im clueless when it comes to buying PC. OH RIGHT. LIKE SHE CAN DO ANY BETTER when it comes to choosing a PC. F*** lor. if i could afford it i won't even care a flying F*** abt telling her if i want to get a new PC. I'd just get it. and if i had the means i wont even bother living in this house; i'd rather bunk out on my own than to see her lian se and tolerate her nonsense. so what if i have to do my own housework, cook my own meals, wash my own laundry. i'll eventually have to do that anyway. damnit. i cant stand it liao. I WANT OUT!
Had a small unhappy tiff on saturday night =( but we made up and celebrated our anniversary on sunday 9/9/07. hehe. Time really flies huh. It's already been exactly 1 year. 1 whole year of being together; 365days of sharing our lives together, laughter and tears of joy and sadness. I won't dare say that we've been together for "very long", for how can 1 year compare to couples who have been together for 5/6 years? But i can say that the both of us have learned and grown much in this past year. Amidst the wonderful and happy times, there were trying times as well. Really thankful that we could pull through them together, with God's grace of course. I guess the day was made even more memorable for me as it was the first time i took communion =)
After service, we went to honglim market at chinatown to eat bak chor mee. Have been craving for it since 2 or 3 sundays ago. haha! after that i brought bubu to a shop that sells all men's underwear at chinatown point. i was curious after reading about it on flowerpod :X eventually we found the shop at one ulu corner at lvl 3. fwah. it looked really dodgy. lol. went in. mm. shop was quite big, and it really sell ALOT of men's underwear. Some of the designs really 'exotic', some really cute (read: feminine) and some just questionmark-ish because both of us wondering how the hell is it supposed to be worn o.O One of the shop assistant waited quite abit but later came over to ask if we needed any help. I had a feeling he hestiated because i was there and was giggling like crazy. -_-" Anyway, he was quite shuai xD BUT ahem, i wondered if he was st8. :X Because of other elements in the shop, we concluded that the shop was rather gh3y-ish, if not VERY. =\ But of course bubu didn't feel awkward or what, he was after all "safe" because I WAS THERE. whahaha =p But for the other customers (guys) that went into the shop, i immediately deemed them as gh3y until proven otherwise. I mean how else do u explain 2 guys going into that kind of store and walk so close somemore. *shivers* lol! But well, overall it was quite an eye-opening experience. Because first time in my life (and for bubu as well) i saw SO MANY types of men's underwear. Like really alot of different types wor! And mind you, most of them are really quite expensive. $46.80 for 1! Whoa, siao! $46.80 can get you a very nice set of 2-piece bra+undies liao wor! Insane! After the "enriching" experience, we went to satisfy our sweet tooth by going to the dessert store across the road. Dunno what's the name of that building =\ Love ordered mango sago and i had black sesame+almond cream. The boy also ordered 1 steamed egg custard because i said i never eat before. Turns out the egg custard really tasted like steamed egg minus the salt but WAY creamier. Took 2 mouths and i said i don't want liao. lol. So bubu finished the rest. The desserts there were really good, price was way more reasonable than the stupid store near lucky chinatown.
After dessert we walked to the bus stop to take bus to victoria street. On the way, we walked past a money changer and the uncle asked bubu if he wanted to change Sing dollar. What the? We are locals leh. Don't tell me he thought we're tourists. Bubu say 'cos i look like 中国妹 thats why he asked. Aye, so evil! :( But actually i think it's because Bubu look like a PRC. HmPhF! Took 851 down to suntec and went to the Games Convention at level 6. (Didn't get to go on friday because i ended at 5.30pm and the convention closed at 6pm.) As expected the place was flooded with kiddies and their families as well as many youths, like me and bubu for example. WAHAHA!!! *Bu yao lian* Went to queue up for the Asiasoft goodie bag. Jeez. I cant believe i let bubu drag me go do this type of 'auntie-uncle'-ish thing haha~ In the queue were many other youths as well as families with kiddos that were maple siao. Zzz. And hor, so 'cute' 1 lor. Must complete "quest" then can get goodie bag. Aiyo. -_-" go to different game booths and play with the game station masters to complete the task. Most of the gamestation masters all damn bored le, cos been doing the same thing for 4 days and for such long hours! Some of the gamestation masters were quite cute&pretty, the girls i mean. the guys...well..they just look geeky. =\ Which brings me to the point - why at gaming/hardware conventions they always employ pretty girls as models/game masters but the guys there all CMI one? So unfair leh! Where are the handsome guys? Bubu says because handsome guys don't game. I dunno whether to laugh or cry, because i do agree with that statement and when i think abt it, bubu indirectly saying himself also. LOL~

It was almost 4pm when we left the convention. Headed to suntec lvl 2. Lurfu wanted to act chi-chi by drinking at starbucks coffee. And so we did. haha. We got lucky. Reached there nia immediately found armchair seats~ hoho. I had hot chocolate like always and bubu drank raspberry frappi. bubu noticed the whole store was manned and managed by malays and he told me something which made my jaw drop. Wonder what would happen if all of them knew that Starbucks was owned by Jews who used the earnings to fund their operation to get rid of the Arabs in the middle east. O_O!! Oh my goodness. What a shocking revelation!

After that it was STILL early and we went to marina to walk. Bubu bought 2 t-shirts for me =) thanks larling~ i splurged 70bucks on lingerie. Cos too cute le the design, i badly needed some new ones. ha~ Because of all the trying and choosing and then subsequently getting lost, we became rather late for our dinner reservation at Al Dente.
Reached esplanade at 7pm. Finally, we were at the place we had waited so long to dine at. Lol. Ambience and service was just fantastic. Weather was good too, thank God it didn't rain or else no more alfresco dining. Come to think of it, 6months ago we were down at lvl 1 glutton's square. Now 6months from then, 'upgrade' to lvl 2 at Al Dente's liao. haha~

Both pastas were not too bad. Not fantastic but definitely above average. The cream sauce with fettucini was subtle, not too overpowering yet favourful. The tomato sauce for the fusilli was herby and rich =) As expected, both pastas were cooked Al Dente style. Many people might not like it if they always go pasta mania. 'cos pasta mania tends to OVERcook their pastas such that it's abit on the NUA side. Im pretty okay with both since i always go pasta mania to eat and my mom always cooks pasta al dente style. haha~ I have the best of both worlds =p

went to town to do my shopping today. mainly to change my mobile phone and shopping. Gah. the phone i wanted to buy is OUT OF STOCK islandwide at all m1 shops. wth! you have got to be kidding me! i hardly see anyone carrying that phone, how is it possible that it's out of stock? anyway i got super pissed off by that. not to mention the tiff i had with my mom earlier while deciding the hp plan. You see, when you're a pathetically poor student, living off your parents, you just have no say. *big sigh* anyway in short, i made my financial provider mad. why? because she, who rejects technology and whom i always say that she should live WAY back in stone age and she says she doesn't mind, got angry when i said people with hp without caller id are abnormal. she just freaking can't see my point. *exasperated* and why? 'because your cousins also never use caller id.' My goodness. My cousins don't use doesn't mean the majority of the huge population of mobile phone users in singapore don't use caller id okay! urgh!
then i went to do my shopping. One word - SIAN. can't find any shoes that caught my eye. went to mens department. got even more SIAN. why? cannot believe how pathetically limited the choices are. took me about 10-15mins to look through all the stuff. And i decided that it was either horrifically uncle-ish, or didn't have the design i had in mind, or simply over my budget. no offense but i really *HATE* shopping for guys. it's always a big headache over what to buy because of the lack of choices. Hence i know why they can squeeze the ENTIRE mens department (golf clubs, luggage, shirts, ties, expensive pens, belts, sunglasses and cufflinks) into half a shopping floor with the other half for the kids section while the womens department are dedicated a whooping 3 levels. Just like Elayna said, 'Women's money easier to earn' I cannot agree more -_-". Which also explains why men's stuff are more expensive. Because they don't always change their stuff. Use until chui also still using, unless their mothers/girlfriends/wives get a new one for them. *haiz*
Not to mention the last time i got someone a gift which i brainstormed the idea for a very very long time and cost WAY way over my budget, the recipient complained that it was too kiddish and went back to the shop to get it changed for another design. Given that, either he plain didn't appreciate what i did or i'm just bad at picking out gifts. Thus, i learnt my lesson. I promised myself that i wouldn't let that fear get the better of me. But inevitably that fear was hard to dismiss. And the perfectionist just kind of gave up on finding the 'perfect' gift altogether. She'd let the pragmatist take over; let the boy choose and totally kill the element of surprise altogether.
