while everyone is catching the newer, brighter and happier shows like ah long pte ltd, cj7, kungfu dunk, i skipped school today to catch.....
*Muahahahahaha* evil laugh. And i think it's quite bloody nice (pun intended). lol~ sorry, couldn't help it. haha! But well, honestly i dunno how to categorize the movie. I dun usually like musicals but this was okay though the singing was ordinary. Music was good! With scores by Stephen Sondheim. And it's not exactly horror (very bloody though), not exactly comedy either (though i found it quite hilarious because Todd was singing whilst slitting people's throats). lol~ The black-white filmstyle is so similar to sleepyhollow, exactly Tim Burton's style. Truly, like what my cousin said, any Tim Burton/Johnny Depp would definitely enjoy the show. Though i won't consider myself to be a fan, i did enjoy the show. and i guess i actually watch quite a few of their shows i.e. Edward scissorhands, sleepyhollow, charlie and the chocolate factory. i still remember how edward scissorhands totally freaked me out for weeks @_@ hey, i was only a kid back then when i first watched it. johnny depp looked so scary in it lor! :( it only goes to show how versatile an actor johnny depp truly is. notice how UNIQUELY DIFFERENT he looks in ALL of his shows? From Willy Wonka to Jack Sparrow to Ichabod Crane to Sweeney Todd. Wah. 4 totally different characters played by the same person. fantastic! story-wise, i felt it was tragic. kind of a romeo&juliet type of ending. =\ i remember immediately after the show ended, some guy said to his friend "wah eh! this show is damn disturbing" no no, it isn't disturbing. disturbing is like saw. this...is eerie and freaky. but well, then again with all the singing, it isn't exactly THAT eerie and scary or freaky lah, hor?
the boy says he wants to watch kungfu dunk. (he calls it kungfu dunG) O.O Are u sure you want to watch the story of Fang Shi Jie? *suspicious* actually i wanna watch jumper and juno more. =p
