my gosh. it's already sunday morning. i'm still up. gotta go church tml morning but i'm not in bed yet. zip and my whole weekend is almost gone! where was friday and saturday? -_-x
anyway, a very belated happy 5 months anniversary to da cookie monster xD hurhur. sadly, we didn't really celebrate our 5th month together 'cause he had cg and i had my seminar. oh yeah. by the way, the seminar on friday - single men are like waffles, single women are like spaghetti was great! absolutely enriching~ and im glad that i went for it and ling was glad she went for it too. kinda felt that it would have been better for ling if i didn't choose such ulu-ated seats. maybe she could have gotten to know some hunks or something if we sat near them. LOL~ and also, jh should really have gone la! would have benefited him quite abit i guess. :X but anyway, it was quite abit of deja vu feeling for me as some of the techniques of better communication skills were brought up. why? 'cause some of the stuff, love had already mentioned it to me or would have probably be already doing it! haha, i guess he would have been quite bored if he was there huh.
so why are men like waffles and women like spaghetti? well, for one, men process their thoughts in boxes, kinda like the boxes on a waffle. one aspect of their lives, one thought, one box. at any one time, they can only process one box at a time. meaning, one thought at 1 time. this makes them BAD at multitasking. women, on the other hand are like spaghetti because their thoughts are like spaghetti noodles. one spaghetti noodle in a plate of spaghetti is always touching all the other noodles. in that light, a woman's thoughts are always connected to one another. eg. a women (a mom) can be talking on the phone with a friend who's complaining to her about life, while watching tv and giving advice to that friend. at the same time, she can also be listing down a grocery list and even have time to signal to her children as they enter the house to get off the couch. AND she can also be closing the fridge door with her leg while opening the ovendoor with her free hand WHILE still holding a conversation on the phone! (believe me, i've seen my mom pull a similar feat ALOT of times before as well.) so, in short, women are GREAT at multitasking. But what happens when u try to put the waffle and the spaghetti together? Eww. they just won't go very well. that's why in general, guys find it hard to keep up with girls who are holding a conversation with them that ranges from a wide variety of topics (eg. work, school, girl friends, shopping, family etc). And girls cant understand why guys can stay on one topic/thought (their favourite box/topic, eg. football/basketball) for so so long. Bottomline for knowing these differences? so that you can understand the other party better and in turn help u communicate better and in turn forge better relationships with one another. Sounds gd huh? sadly eh, knowing and applying is really 2 different things man. lol~
